Update — November 8, 2026:

The National Weather Service issued a flash-flood warning at 1:23 p.m. CST Sunday for a broader area of the Texas Hill Country, including western Bandera, Edwards, northwestern Kerr, northern Kinney, Real, northern Uvalde and northeastern Val Verde counties. It runs until 8 p.m. CST Sunday.

The bulletin describes a life-threatening flash-flood threat. At 1:21 p.m., Edwards County Emergency Management reported several flooded low-water crossings near Barksdale, some impassable. That is a specific report of flooding, separate from the wider radar-indicated threat.

Radar indicated 3–5 inches of rain across the warned area, with up to another 2 inches possible. The warning includes Rocksprings, Leakey, Camp Wood, Vanderpool, Medina, Concan, Garner State Park and Lost Maples State Natural Area among locations at risk.

Forecasters warn of dangerous flows along creeks, streams and roads with low-water crossings. They advise motorists to find another route rather than cross flooded roads, and campers and hikers to avoid streams and creeks.

This new warning replaces the earlier reporting below as the latest development. The earlier Saturday advisories have expired; their coverage and rainfall estimates remain historical context and should not be combined with Sunday’s figures.

Update — November 7, 2026, 10:06 p.m. Central:

A separate flood advisory now covers central Bandera County, including Medina, Bandera, Tarpley and Hill Country State Natural Area, through 2 a.m. CST Sunday, November 8.

The National Weather Service issued that notice at 9:05 p.m. Saturday. Radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy thunderstorms, with 1–2 inches of rain already fallen and up to another inch forecast. Minor flooding was occurring or expected shortly in the advisory area, particularly in low-lying or poorly drained places.

This adds central Bandera County to the west-central Bandera, southeastern Real and northeastern Uvalde coverage described below. The two advisories identify different areas and locations; neither applies throughout all three counties.

The agency warns that low-water crossings can be dangerous during heavy rain and advises drivers to find another route rather than cross flooded roads. Nighttime conditions make water over roads harder to recognize.

Earlier Reporting — November 7, 8:03 p.m. Advisory:

The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory Saturday night for parts of three south-central Texas counties, warning that heavy thunderstorms could produce dangerous flows over low-water crossings.

The advisory covers west-central Bandera County, southeastern Real County and northeastern Uvalde County. It remains in effect until 2 a.m. Central Standard Time Sunday, November 8.

At 8:03 p.m. Saturday, November 7, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain, with between 1 and 2 inches already fallen, according to the agency’s Austin/San Antonio office. The alert said minor flooding was underway or expected to begin shortly. Up to another inch of rain was forecast.

Locations named in the advisory include Vanderpool, Garner State Park, Rio Frio, Concan and Utopia. The expected impacts include flooding in low-lying areas and places with poor drainage.

The weather service urged motorists to avoid flooded roads and exercise particular caution at night, when flood hazards are harder to see. Its instructions also warned campers and hikers to stay away from streams and creeks.

This report describes the official advisory; it does not establish that every listed location has flooded.
