Edison Scientific announced October 29 an agreement to deploy its AI platform and Kosmos research system across Pfizer’s biopharmaceutical research and development pipeline.

According to Edison, the collaboration will combine publicly available information with Pfizer’s proprietary research data. The planned work spans areas including oncology, internal medicine and immunology.

Edison says Kosmos will draw on lessons from experiments and clinical readouts to support scientists’ decisions across development programs. Its scientists and engineers will work alongside Pfizer teams to adapt the system to particular workflows.

The announcement describes a research-support agreement, rather than the approval of a medicine or evidence that an AI system has improved patient outcomes. It does not identify financial terms, specific drug candidates or a timetable for resulting treatments.

Edison was spun out of the nonprofit research laboratory FutureHouse in 2025. The company describes Kosmos as a collaborative tool for research teams working with proprietary data.

The stated objective is to make accumulated research information more useful across programs. Whether the deployment accelerates discovery remains an outcome to be demonstrated.
