# Wembanyama’s 29 Points Help Spurs Beat Portland for Eighth Straight Win

Victor Wembanyama scored 29 points as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 125–103 at Moda Center on Saturday, November 7, extending their winning streak to eight games.

The Spurs improved to 8–2 after opening the season with two losses. Portland fell to 6–3. Both teams were playing on consecutive nights.

San Antonio led 22–20 after the first quarter, then scored 42 points in the second and 45 in the third. That stretch turned a close opening period into a 109–76 lead entering the fourth quarter. Wembanyama did not play in the final period.

He made nine of 13 shots, including three of six three-pointers, and eight of nine free throws. He also finished with seven rebounds and three assists.

Devin Vassell added 15 points. Stephon Castle and Julian Champagnie scored 14 apiece, while Dylan Harper contributed 13. Castle and Harper each grabbed seven rebounds, with Castle adding five assists.

The Spurs made 17 of 44 three-point attempts and 28 of 30 free throws. They finished with 51 rebounds to Portland’s 38 and held the Trail Blazers to nine three-pointers on 35 attempts.

Deni Avdija led Portland with 15 points. Scoot Henderson scored 13, while Damian Lillard and Yang Hansen had 12 each. Hansen also collected 10 rebounds.

San Antonio’s result followed Friday’s win in Sacramento, giving the Spurs two victories to begin this road trip. The final score reflects Portland’s 27–16 fourth quarter after San Antonio had established its decisive advantage.
