President Donald Trump said Sunday in Port Huron, Michigan, that the trade dispute with Canada would be settled soon, while defending his tariffs.

He did not announce an agreement or provide its terms. His remarks described an expectation for negotiations rather than a completed change in trade rules.

The comments came during a campaign rally supporting Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers ahead of the November 3 election.
