Launch Catch-Up — Comment Period Opened October 23; Notice Published October 26, 2026.

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative is seeking comments on a proposal to extend the suspension of certain China-related maritime measures for two months, through January 9, 2027.

A Federal Register notice published October 26 says the agency opened the comment period October 23. Written submissions are due by 5 p.m. Eastern on October 30 to be assured consideration.

The existing suspension is scheduled to end November 9. The proposed extension would cover November 10 through January 9 and allow additional negotiations with China.

According to the notice, specified maritime service fees and duties covered by the action would remain suspended during that period. The proposal concerns defined measures in earlier notices, rather than every U.S. tariff or shipping charge involving China.

The document requests public input. It does not announce a final decision adopting the extension.
