Launch Catch-Up — Exhibition Announced October 26, 2026

The National Museum of Wildlife Art announced that Cristina Mittermeier: A Greater Wisdom will open October 31, marking the exhibition’s North American debut.

The museum’s October 26 release schedules the presentation through May 9, 2027. The National Geographic Society and Gallerie d’Italia, Intesa Sanpaolo’s museums, organized the traveling exhibition.

Mittermeier’s work examines relationships among people, wildlife and changing environments. The museum describes a presentation drawing on three decades of photography, including landscapes, seascapes and communities closely connected to their surroundings.

The exhibition previously appeared in Italy, according to the museum. Its stated themes include conservation and Mittermeier’s idea of “enoughness,” which asks viewers to consider consumption and relationships with the natural world.

The October announcement concerns an upcoming museum presentation. The exhibition has not yet opened locally, and this report summarizes the institution’s plans rather than reviewing the installation or claiming firsthand access to the artworks.
