Daimler Truck reported a 73% increase in third-quarter adjusted earnings before interest and taxes Friday, November 6, with its North American truck business providing the main lift.
Group adjusted EBIT reached €1.124 billion, compared with €648 million a year earlier. Revenue from the industrial business rose 20% to €11.635 billion.
The North American division’s adjusted EBIT climbed to €691 million from €257 million. Its adjusted operating margin improved to 12.1% from 6.4%, while deliveries increased 51% to 45,629 vehicles.
The recovery follows a weaker year-earlier period affected by freight-market conditions and uncertainty over U.S. import tariffs. Friday’s earnings report provides a new financial measure of the rebound; the company had already disclosed quarterly vehicle-sales totals in October.
Across the group, quarterly deliveries totaled 91,260 vehicles, up from 72,277. Incoming orders increased 10% to 71,168. The gains were not uniform: Daimler Buses delivered fewer vehicles than a year earlier.
The company kept its full-year forecasts. It continues to expect industrial-business revenue of €43 billion to €47 billion and an adjusted return on sales of 7% to 9%. Forecast group adjusted EBIT remains €3.6 billion to €4.1 billion, with annual deliveries projected at 340,000 to 370,000 vehicles.
Those ranges are management forecasts for 2026, while the reported quarterly figures cover July through September. The adjusted EBIT measure describes operating earnings before interest and taxes, rather than net income.
