The New York Giants defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 19–11 on Sunday, November 8, ending a long road losing streak against their division rival and handing Philadelphia its seventh consecutive defeat.
New York improved to 5–2–1 and remained the only NFC East team with a winning record. The Eagles fell to 2–7 after the game at Lincoln Financial Field.
Jameis Winston provided the Giants’ only touchdown pass during a brief appearance in relief of J.J. McCarthy, who left with a hip injury in the third quarter. Winston found Isaiah Likely for a five-yard score that turned an 8–6 deficit into a 13–8 lead.
McCarthy returned before the end of the third quarter. He finished with 127 yards on 12-of-19 passing, while Winston completed six of eight attempts for 71 yards and the touchdown.
Dominic Zvada made all four of his field-goal attempts. His kicks from 53 and 49 yards gave New York an early 6–0 advantage, and two second-half field goals extended the lead after Winston’s scoring pass.
Philadelphia had gone ahead before halftime on a three-yard Saquon Barkley touchdown run followed by Joe Milton III’s successful two-point conversion. Milton, starting in place of Tanner McKee, passed for 169 yards and rushed for 64.
The Giants’ defense recorded seven sacks, including three by Arvell Reese. Philadelphia added a late field goal but failed to recover an onside kick, and its final possession ended with a fourth-down sack.
The result was New York’s first victory in Philadelphia since October 27, 2013. The Eagles had won 13 consecutive home meetings, including a playoff game, before Sunday.
