Palantir Technologies forecast fourth-quarter revenue above Wall Street estimates Monday after third-quarter sales nearly doubled from a year earlier.

The data-analytics company projected revenue of $2.649 billion to $2.653 billion for the fourth quarter. Analysts surveyed by LSEG had expected about $2.46 billion, Reuters reported.

Third-quarter revenue rose 96% from the same period a year earlier to $2.31 billion, beating the $2.18 billion analyst estimate. Palantir also raised its full-year revenue outlook to a range of $8.530 billion to $8.534 billion, up from its prior forecast of $8.150 billion to $8.158 billion.

The company’s investor presentation showed U.S. revenue rising 119% year over year to $1.94 billion. U.S. commercial revenue increased 148% to $984 million, surpassing U.S. government revenue for the first time, while U.S. government revenue rose 96% to $953 million.

Palantir reported adjusted operating income of $1.43 billion and adjusted free cash flow of $1.22 billion. Those are non-GAAP measures that exclude specified costs, including stock-based compensation and related payroll taxes.

Chief Executive Alex Karp said the company had essentially doubled in size compared with a year earlier. Demand has grown as government agencies and businesses use Palantir’s software to combine and analyze data while keeping control over sensitive information and artificial-intelligence models.

The company said it closed 212 deals worth at least $1 million during the quarter, including 64 worth at least $10 million. Palantir shares moved higher in volatile after-hours trading following the release.
