Timken raised its 2026 earnings outlook Wednesday after reporting higher third-quarter sales, profit and cash flow.

The North Canton, Ohio-based maker of engineered bearings and industrial motion products posted sales of $1.21 billion, up 4.7% from a year earlier. Organic sales increased 2.8%, with the remainder of growth reflecting factors including an acquisition and pricing.

Net income was $93.8 million, or $1.34 per diluted share, compared with $69.3 million, or 99 cents per share, in the prior-year quarter. Adjusted earnings rose 20.4% to $1.65 per share.

Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization totaled $224.6 million, or 18.5% of sales. The company said that figure included a $12.4 million net benefit from tariff refunds.

Cash provided by operations reached $256.1 million, while free cash flow was $221.4 million. Timken returned $88.7 million to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases during the quarter and completed the previously announced sale of its belts business to Gates Industrial.

The company now expects full-year GAAP earnings of $4.05 to $4.20 per share and adjusted earnings of $6.35 to $6.50 per share. Timken said it is too early to issue a formal 2027 forecast, but currently expects mid-single-digit organic sales growth next year.

Timken’s results reflect conditions across industrial markets such as manufacturing, transportation and energy. The company’s early view of 2027 is a management expectation rather than a reported result and remains subject to economic, pricing and demand risks.
