Launch Catch-Up — Awards Announced October 26, 2026.

Emory University has awarded more than $600,000 to 20 arts, humanities and social sciences projects through a new faculty funding program, the university announced October 26.

The AMPLIFY initiative supports research and creative work with a public engagement component. Planned outputs include documentaries, podcasts, performances, exhibitions and graphic novels.

Among the projects are a screenplay connecting black hole imaging with family memory, a comparison of COVID-19 commemoration in 11 countries, and a free public concert pairing Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite with Duke Ellington's music.

The program, launched in summer 2026, includes research grants for recently tenured faculty, support for community events and seminar fellowships.

Emory said the funded work addresses subjects ranging from immigration and public policy to healthcare, climate and artificial intelligence. The announcement identifies funding awards and planned work; it does not report completed research findings or provide a full public event calendar.
