KidSTREAM Children’s Museum announced October 28 that Carina Reeves will become its president and chief executive on November 2, following a nationwide search.
The Camarillo, California, nonprofit said Reeves previously served on its board and chaired its governance committee. She most recently worked as chief strategy officer for the Navy’s engineering and technology command at Port Hueneme, according to the museum’s announcement.
Her earlier museum experience includes educational outreach at the U.S. Navy Seabee Museum and work at the George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan presidential libraries and museums.
KidSTREAM opened its indoor-outdoor campus at the former Camarillo Library site on May 21, 2026. It reported more than 40,000 visitors since opening, including more than 4,000 donor-subsidized access visits. Those attendance figures are the institution’s own account of its opening season.
The museum said it has introduced additional interactive exhibits, school field trips and mobile outreach. Its STREAM program combines science, technology, reading, engineering, arts and mathematics.
Reeves’ appointment is the new development; the museum’s May opening provides background for the leadership transition.
